Victoria Checa

LMSW

Victoria approaches therapy with the belief that people already hold a deep sense of inner wisdom, even when it feels out of reach. Her role is to help clients slow down, get curious, and begin asking the kinds of questions that gently loosen the grip of unhelpful thought patterns and long-standing cycles they may feel stuck in.

Victoria has experience working with both adolescents and adults across a range of clinical settings. Her work is grounded in collaboration and curiosity, with an emphasis on helping clients identify and shift patterns that may no longer be serving them. She draws from motivational interviewing to support clients working through habits, behaviors, and cycles they are hoping to change.

Victoria has completed training in psychedelic-assisted therapy across three separate programs and has experience supporting clients through psychedelic integration. In this work, she takes a non-directive approach, focusing on helping clients explore the meaning of their experiences through thoughtful questioning and reflection, with the goal of translating insight into long-term healing and change. She has also worked in palliative care and end-of-life settings within this space, supporting meaning-making, legacy work, and the navigation of grief, loss, and existential distress.

Across all of her work, Victoria integrates mindfulness-based and trauma-informed care as foundational approaches. Mindfulness serves as a starting point for helping clients build awareness, regulate emotions, and create space between experience and response, supporting a more grounded and compassionate relationship with their internal world.
