Maija Castro
LCSW-C
Maija believes that all humans seek connection, understanding, and love. Yet, life’s challenges—trauma, stress, and adversity—can lead to disconnection and loss. These hardships disrupt our ability to trust, to be truly seen, and to feel at home within ourselves. She views therapy as a space to expand self-awareness, cultivate meaning and purpose, and embrace the messiness of our lived experiences.
With warmth, authenticity, and genuine respect for each person’s journey, Maija creates a supportive therapeutic relationship that fosters exploration and empowerment. She integrates humanistic-existential, cognitive, transpersonal, and attachment-based frameworks to meet each client’s unique needs. Her specialized training and certifications include, trauma, grief, domestic abuse, mood disorders, and ADHD.
Maija’s passion for the mind-body-spirit connection led her to earn a Master of Holistic Health Studies to complement her clinical training. She enjoys integrating mindfulness, philosophy, and energy work to deepen the therapeutic process. Taking a relational and engaging approach, she often weaves humor, pop culture, literature, art, and music into sessions to make the work both meaningful and accessible.
