Larree Strickland

Larree Strickland

Larree is committed to creating a compassionate, inclusive, and radically accepting space where clients feel seen, valued, and supported in their unique journeys. As a therapist and “process guardian,” they approach healing collaboratively, with a deep commitment to cultivating radical self-love, self-acceptance, and a sense of intrinsic worth. Their work is grounded in the belief that true wellness encompasses mind, body, spirit, and community.

As a trans non-binary Black therapist from Bulbancha (colonially: New Orleans), Larree centers anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and anti-colonial perspectives in their practice. They draw on somatic and movement-based approaches to support nervous system regulation, while incorporating ritual and ceremony as meaningful tools for healing and transformation. Larree works collaboratively with clients to identify and refine coping mechanisms that honor their unique experiences, strengths, and needs, while supporting them in understanding when and how to use these strategies across different emotional and situational contexts.

Larree supports clients in exploring areas including grief, death, sexuality, gender, relationships, and social wellbeing. They provide gender-affirming care for LGBTQ+ individuals and support clients in polyamorous and expansive relationships. They also help client groups develop skills for community engagement and collective wellbeing, drawing on insights from living systems to inspire transformative action and meaningful connection.

While versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Psychedelic Assisted Therapy, Larree’s practice emphasizes bodily awareness, holistic healing, and the interconnectedness of individuals and their communities. Their diverse professional background includes community-engaged research, anti-racism facilitation, and program coordination for immigrant and refugee families. They are also expanding their knowledge of land rights and data stewardship for Indigenous and displaced African Indigenous persons, with a focus on preserving traditional knowledge and practices.

Larree brings a deep appreciation for life and interconnectedness to their work, finding wisdom and excitement in both profound experiences and life’s simple joys, from basking in sunlight to sharing moments of creativity with loved ones.
